    STEADYGIRL

Don Campbell wrote in The Oregonian, "Paula Sinclair and her distinctive voice take you from the heavenly tips of angels’ wings to the jagged shores of love’s contradictions. She honors tradition by rejecting the overproduction often heard in some alt-country music. Her songs echo 1970’s Emmylou Harris as wells today’s Neko Case.”

Other reviewers have echoed Campbell's pithy but eloquent observation. What they're all saying is that Paula is the real-deal: an authentic country singer-songwriter in the tradition of the great ones from the past as well as in terms by which contemporary greatness is measured.

STEADYGIRL is Paula's breakthrough album. She and co-producers Rpb Stroup and Rob Barteletti cherry-picked the best songs from Paula's catalogue as well as from Baretletti's (5 apiece) and added a rocking cover of Steve Earle's classic "Fearless Heart." Stroup's production values are impeccable, matched by the great crew of musicians brought on board for this project: Tim Ellis (guitar, mandolin), Tony Furtado (banjo, dobro, dojo), Paul Brainard (Pedal steel), Arthur Parker (bass), and Drew Shoals (drums). To hear samples and/or full-length versions of the songs go to Paula's Sonicbids page. THE GOOD HORSE

In 2006, Paula began setting poetry to music as a way of expanding her lyrical repertoire. This project features work by Oregon poets including William Stafford, Joseph Millar, Dorianne Laux, Debbie West, and Jarold Ramsey. The songs range from the county heartbreaker, “Sunday Radio,” to the folk-rocker “Telephone Repairman,” to the Latin-inspired “Love Pirates.” The title song is from a poem by William Stafford.
It is available for purchase on CD Baby and at shows.

In 2007, Paula finished recording The Good Horse with Rob Stroup at 8 Ball Studios in Portland, Oregon. It has been so well-received that Paul will release an all-William Stafford CD in early 2010.
